Logo Design, Brand Identity, Print & Apparel DesignProject Objective
I had the exciting opportunity to lead the design and visual development for the inaugural Claws & Country Music Festival, hosted by 101.9 WPOR in Mid Coast Maine. This high-energy summer event showcased live performances by six talented local musicians, alongside a featured set from an American Idol finalist—attracting both country music fans and regional visitors. The event combined the flavors of Maine’s coastal lifestyle (clams, claws, and community) with the storytelling spirit of country music.
Design Approach
The creative direction merged classic Americana with coastal Maine identity to establish a memorable and authentic festival brand. Key elements included:A custom festival logo blending rustic country themes with nautical and seafood motifs, such as lobster claws and guitar frets.
Bold, easy-to-read poster designs optimized for both print and digital use, promoting artist lineups, dates, and event details across various channels.
Merchandise and apparel including T-shirts, hats, and tote bags that fans could wear with pride—designed for print clarity and maximum visual impact.
A cohesive color palette inspired by sun-faded denim, coastal blues, and vintage signage, appealing to both traditional country fans and casual event-goers.
Typography choices and layout styles were inspired by roadhouse posters, souvenir shirts, and country music album covers, adding authenticity and flair.
Results & Impact
The final designs established a strong, unified brand presence that helped elevate the festival's visibility and credibility—essential for a first-time event. Organizers received positive feedback from sponsors, attendees, and the station’s audience for the clear, consistent, and festive branding. Merchandise sold well on-site, with several pieces becoming limited-edition souvenirs of the summer. This project reflects my ability to capture a regional voice and translate it into engaging, marketable visuals—balancing event promotion, community identity, and audience appeal..
