Project Overview
Ravenwood Outfitters, a brand committed to producing premium-quality, U.S.-made outdoor gear, needed a visual identity that would reflect its values of rugged durability, classic styling, and a spirit of adventure. The goal was to design a logo that felt timeless yet bold—resonating with outdoor enthusiasts whether they were on an expedition, a day hike, or commuting through the urban jungle.

The logo was crafted through a thorough, hands-on process that prioritized clarity, meaning, and versatility across product lines and marketing materials.

Logo Design Phases

Sketching & Brainstorming
Initial ideas were captured through quick pencil sketches and conceptual studies, focusing on iconography that merged nature, freedom, and durability.

Digital Translation
Selected sketches were refined and digitized, allowing for cleaner structure and the flexibility to explore multiple directions.

Monotone Exploration
High-contrast, single-color versions were created to test clarity and scalability across various applications—from leather patches and hangtags to web icons and embroidery.

Refinement & Presentation
A final logo concept was polished and presented to the client, with variations for horizontal, stacked, and simplified formats.

Color Scheme Development:
Earth-toned color palettes were explored and applied, grounding the brand in the natural landscapes that inspire its gear.

Outcome
The final logo evokes a sense of heritage, resilience, and adventure, aligning seamlessly with Ravenwood’s mission to equip everyday explorers with gear built for a lifetime of hard use. The design has since been implemented across product tags, apparel, digital media, and packaging, establishing a strong and authentic visual foundation for the brand.
